At the “10th All Japan Trampoline Age Group Championships” held in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, seven athletes from IAS Family Sports Club participated. During this event, which also served as the first selection for the “30th World Age Group Trampoline Championships” scheduled to take place in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in November 2023, one member from IAS Family Sports Club secured a spot as a representative for Japan. Additionally, four members advanced to the final selection event held in July in Niigata, marking a significant breakthrough for the club.
From May 13th to 14th, 2023, the grand “10th All Japan Trampoline Age Group Championships” took place at the Yamato Civic Gymnasium in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. This event brought together athletes aiming for the pinnacle of world trampoline sports, and it also served as the first selection for the “30th World Age Group Trampoline Championships,” which will be held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in November 2023. Seven athletes from IAS Family Sports Club participated in this tournament and engaged in fierce competition.

In the AGE2 Women’s category (ages 13-14), player Yuki Masutani delivered a remarkable and consistent performance, securing the 2nd place and earning her ticket as a Japan representative for the third consecutive year.
In the AGE1 Women’s category (ages 11-12), Harusaki Matsui achieved an impressive 4th place, while Nene Irie secured the 5th place, both achieving excellent results. Furthermore, in the AGE3 Women’s category (ages 15-16), Aoi Funanaka showcased a splendid performance, earning the 7th position.
On the other hand, in the AGE2 Men’s category (ages 13-14), Subaru Wakasugi participated but narrowly missed the chance to reach the top spots, settling for the 12th place. However, due to his previous achievements as a Japan representative last year, he qualifies for the preliminary selection. All four athletes mentioned above have now advanced to the final selection event.
The final selection event is scheduled to take place in July at the Joetsu Gymnastics Arena in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. Alongside the renowned athletes who have made a name for themselves in last year’s competition, there are high hopes and expectations for the new athletes who will spread their wings and soar onto the world stage.
The All Japan Trampoline Age Group Championships play a crucial role in promoting the growth of young athletes and elevating the level of competition, significantly contributing to the development of trampoline sports in Japan. The trampoline sports community is eagerly anticipating further advancements and progress in the future.
